Please label your violinist’s violin CASE with their name (I recommend using painters tape or something similar). Please write your violinist’s name in their book. Sometimes things get left behind and this helps me find the right owner.
So proud of these violinists and their practicing habits! Keep it up! They are making super fast progress. I am so proud. We have some NEW and some SAME practice as last week. The Violinists learned “The Egg Song” and I would really like for them to continue to get their playing positions stronger! You can also watch my bow hold video as a bonus!
Each week I "shout out" one or more students in each class! This week I would like to shout out: Vera - you did such a great job bending your thumb when we were practicing the bow hold! You are setting yourself up for good habits!
Violinists and families - this week it is so important that you begin the habit of practice for this year. Please take out your violin 4 times for practice between 10/22-10/28 for just 5-10 minutes every time. I want you practicing practice! This will make practicing much easier later in the year and is a great life skill!
This week in violin we:
Reviewed rest/playing position
Learned “The Egg Song” which uses all of our open strings and plucking in rest position
Practice our bow holds on pencils and on bows (page 17 in our Suzuki Book)
Practice:
5-10 minutes a day (this week might be more of a 5 minute week)
Chose 1-2 of these things to do a a day
Review the song “Dirty Doggy Scrub Scrub” you can do this without your violins, even in the car or on the bus or train! “Dirty Doggie Scrub Scrub, Put Him in a tub tub, Rub a dub a dub dub, Dirty Doggie Scrub Scrub”
